Amber Monte
Amber Monte has 14 years of property management experience. As President of Sage Apartment Communities, Ms. Monte oversees every detail of operations and management of a portfolio of 78 properties throughout the western United States. She takes a very proactive hands-on approach to the management of each property and earned her bachelor degree in Business Leadership from Concordia University of Irvine.

Julie Rodriguez, CPM

Chief Operating Officer
Julie Rodriguez joined the team with 30 years of property management experience. As Chief Operating Officer she oversees the day to day operations and management for all Sage Communities. Ms. Rodriguez has managed multifamily real estate across the country and has held positions from Property Manager, Regional Manager, Senior Regional Manager, Regional Vice President and Vice President of Operations. A prime focus of her career has been the repositioning of large building assets, receiverships, acquisitions, and restructuring the result driven property management division. She holds the designation of Certified Property Manager with the Institute of Real Estate Management. Ms. Rodriguez has served on the Orange County board of IREM for 6 years as the VP of membership. She is a licensed realtor and broker in California and Michigan. She studied at the University of Toledo and holds an Associate’s degree in Business Management Administration.

Lea Beasley
Director of Operations
Lea Beasley brings 29 years of experience in the multi-family residential industry in various positions including Leasing Consultant, Community Manager, Regional Manager, Director of Resident Information Management, Regional Vice President, and Asset Manager. Lea has managed assets both privately owned and institutionally owned throughout the United States. She has extensive success building strong teams and has concentrated focus on operational financial results.
Lea currently holds a California Real Estate License and is working towards her Certification in Property Management with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Ms. Beasley holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine.

Greg Gomez
Chief Financial Officer
Greg Gomez has been the CFO for the over 10 years and in-house CPA of Affordable Housing Associates, LLC. During 9 of those 11 years Greg oversaw the expansion and management of the affordable housing division. Currently, Greg oversees the accounting for the affordable housing properties and assists in related HUD and property management matters

Cerissa C. Woody
Regional Manager
Cerissa brings 18 years of experience in the Property Management industry. She began her career in the multifamily industry as a Leasing Consultant, and was quickly promoted to Community Manager, and then to Regional Manager. She has held the role of Portfolio Manager / Regional Manager for the last 4 years. Her experience is with conventional, tax credits, project based Section 8, Section 42, and HUD properties. Cerissa has her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management, and a Minor in Human Resources from Warner Pacific College. She is pursuing her Masters of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership, and will graduate December 2018. She is also working towards her Certification in Property Management.

Christine Spragg
Regional Manager
Christine brings 26 years’ experience in the multifamily industry in positions ranging from Assistant Training Director, Senior Regional Manager, Asset Manager and Director of Multi-Family Initiatives. Christine has overseen as many as 45 communities with 4 management companies. Her primary focus has been Affordable Communities, although she has had several Market Rate communities as well. Christine has been involved in several syndications, including writing the grant for State Housing Trust Funds and completing the LURA’s. Christine has a C3P Tax Credit Designation, CPO Certification and CAPS designation through the National Apartment Association.

Elias Nieto
Regional Manager
Elias Nieto brings ten years of experience in multi-family property management. Mr. Nieto began his career as a Leasing Consultant, and was promoted to Assistant Manager and then Community Manager. He has held various roles as a Lease Up Manager before moving on to multisite manager and now Junior Regional Manager. Mr. Nieto has experience in Conventional, Section 8 and Tax Credit properties ranging from Luxury, Lease Up to Rehab communities. He has worked in 5 states across different markets along the western part of the U.S. His main focus is primarily on development of his team, increasing NOI by pushing market rates and decreasing delinquency.

Jewel Dilworth
Regional Manager
Jewel joined sage in December of 2019. Prior to joining Sage Management Jewel has been active in the multifamily industry since 1986 bringing a wealth of knowledge and business acumen to her business partners. Jewel has been an active member of numerous industry associations, won multiple industry and company awards, and volunteered extensively in her community. She holds a Minnesota real estate license and a Certified Residential Manager designation from the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association. Jewel earned her Bachelor of Science in education with a coaching certificate from Minnesota State University.

Laura Backstrom
Regional Manager
Laura Backstrom brings 22 years of experience in the multifamily industry in positions ranging from Leasing Consultant, Assistant Community Manager, Community Manager and Regional/Asset Manager. Ms. Backstrom has overseen assets both privately and institutionally owned throughout the United States, ranging from market rate, lease-up, renovation, mixed-use and luxury communities. Her concentrated portfolio focus continues to be increased NOI through rent growth, vacancy reduction, expense management and overall performance based results.

Laura Rivera
Regional Manager
Laura Rivera brings 23 years of experience in full service multi-family residential property. She has a proven track record with managing property throughout the United States. Her experience is with conventional lease-up, tax credits, project based Section 8, Section 42 properties. Ms. Rivera in her 23 years’ experience has held positions beginning with Leasing Agent, Assistant Manager, Community Manager, Training & Development, Regional Property Supervisor, and Director of Property Operations. Ms. River holds a CPO designation from the National Affordable Housing Management Association, and she is currently working towards her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at National University. Ms. Rivera also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University.

Al Priester
Regional Maintenance Director
Mr. Priester has been in property management for the last 25 years. While he has enjoyed Managing Apartment Renovations, and working side by side with ownership to except new construction, managing capital projects has been his specialty. Over the last six years he has overseen from start to completion over 250 major projects. The first 11 years of his career Mr. Priester enjoyed working with the Department of State Parks.

Javier Piña
Director of Compliance 
Javier has been in real estate management and the multifamily industry for over 15 years and has recently joined Sage Apartment Communities. Javier is responsible for the oversight of the Compliance Department which supports the on-site teams in the affordable portfolio in all aspects of compliance. Javier holds the Assisted Housing Manager (AHM) certification with Quadel Consulting. Other certifications include Management and Occupancy Review Specialist (MORS) and Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) with the National Center for Housing Management (NCHM). Javier is also Certified Occupancy Specialist (CPO) with National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). Javier also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marketing from Cal State University, Northridge.

Carlos Aguero
Syndication Manager
Carlos joins the compliance team with 10 years of experience in Affordable Housing. He began his career as a Leasing Consultant for a 500 unit Tax Credit property and was later promoted to Site Compliance specialist. He worked as a Compliance Auditor being responsible for the regulatory compliance oversight of an assigned portfolio of affordable multifamily projects. He’s held the position of Property Manager the last few years and most recently was the acting Compliance Supervisor reviewing Move In & Annual Recert files for 5 other properties within his company. He holds designations as a Site Compliance Specialist and Specialist in Housing Credit Management.

Urvi Mehta
Accounting Manager
Urvi Mehta has been handling Property Management Accounting since 2006. Prior to joining Sage Ms. Mehta worked with a mid-sized property management firm and was responsible for all accounting functions for commercial as well as low income housing properties. She earned her Master’s in Accountancy from Gujarat University, India.

Dan Cervantes
Director of Human Resources
Dan is a proud father to a 12-year-old boy. During his free time, he enjoys traveling, hockey and fitness. Dan has served in the United States Air Force and obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Chapman University. Most recently, Dan was hired to construct an HR department at a property management company that focused on manufactured housing and RV parks prior to joining the IPG and SAGE family.

Bonny Williams
Human Resources Assistant Manager
Bonny has held progressive roles in Human Resources management and payroll over the last 7 years. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Anthropology from University of California, Irvine and a HR certificate from the University of California, Irvine-Extension. As an artist and singer, Bonny loves spending her spare time crafting and playing music.

Hailey Gausewitz
Hailey Gausewitz is responsible for all the recruitment efforts for IPG and SAGE properties and corporate staffing. She brings a wide range of recruiting experience from different industries with her and we are excited to have her on board. Hailey graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. Hailey is an Orange County, CA local, growing up in Tustin and moving to Newport Beach after graduating from college. Outside of work Hailey is an avid Pilates student and is a regular at Wednesday night Trivia. She enjoys anything that involves food and friends and her taste is quite adventurous.
